Check Out This Information Before You Buy The Canon SD880 Powershot Camera
We had been on the look out for a new camera for our son for some time. An SLR camera was not an option for what he wanted to photograph, and he certainly didn't require all the major features of a more expensive camera like mine. However, it was still important to purchase a camera that produced a good quality photo. After our diligent online searching and frequent store visits, it was clear that the Canon SD880 Powershot was the perfect choice. With 10 megapixels, ideal size, and wealth of updated technology, it would certainly be a fantastic point-and-shoot camera for John.

We were very satisfied with the Canon SD880 Powershot, and John was equally excited by the technology and functionality of the camera. It’s seen as a point-and-shoot camera, but it definately goes far beyond the norm and offers users a number of different capabilities. Quality pictures are no problem with the benefit of 10 megapixels, there's no need to worry about images losing quality once enlarged, and the camera offers more flexibility if you’re editing or printing your photos. With 4x optical zoom and advanced Optical Image Stabilizer to reduce camera shake, the Canon SD880 Powershot achieves great results. The zoom feature allows you to easily take distant shots clearly. The other great feature that John really appreciates is the 19 different shooting modes, allowing you to take photos for any occasion - portrait, landscape action, etc.

The Canon SD880 Powershot features a quality image processor, which reduces noise reduction and ensures high quality photos. The scene-recognition technology greatly improves images with speed, accuracy, exposure and white balance all taken into account, while the intelligent contrast correction controls the compensation level in the pixel units of the picture. This results in increasing the brightness of darker areas of an image whilst leaving existing bright areas unchanged. Even without the setting on, the camera will automatically adjust these elements. Also included is a special red-eye reduction feature, which can be used either before or after you have taken your photo.

The compact size of the Canon SD880 Powershot allows you to easily carry the camera in a bag or coat pocket without being troublesome. An excellent choice if you need a camera for any location. The extra protection of the wrist strap also makes it easy to carry the camera with you to a sporting event, family function or on vacation. Even if you happen to own an SLR camera, it’s certainly an advantage to have another option for those times you don’t feel like dragging around all your bulky equipment.

The only concerns we found with the camera relate to the positioning of the buttons which may be frutstrating to some, and the mode dial turns a little too freely than desired. Other than these minor points, the camera is certainly a worthwhile investment, and good value for money.

We highly recommend puchasing a Canon SD880 Powershot Camera, especially given its features and functionality are way above par, it's an ideal size for use in a variety of everyday applications, and has an attractive price tag.
