After recently examining a variety of cameras at the local store, we ended up paying particular attention to the Canon Powershot SD880 Camera.  This camera has received a number of positive reviews from consumers and testers, so we took it upon ourselves to investigate. With its 10 megapixels and a wealth of technological features built-in, it certainly strikes the eye, and makes it hard to ignore.

The addition of 19 different shooting modes is also highly beneficial, and provides options for just about any photographic situation.

The Canon Powershot SD880 Camera also comes with an image processor, face self-timer, scene-recognition technology, and intelligent contrast correction. The scene-recognition technology works to improve speed, accuracy, exposure and white balance, while the image processor provides a faster noise reduction, which produces higher quality pictures. Clever technology such as the face self-timer allows for everyone to be in the picture, and the intelligent contrast correction controls the compensation level in the pixel units, so darker areas become brighter or existing bright areas remain unchanged.  Excellent features which we come to expect from the likes of Canon.

The Canon Powershot SD880 camera is very compact, and is perfect for taking along to social functions and sporting events, without taking up room. There are very few annoying points to raise about this camera, except for the mode dial which turns more freely than perhaps desired, and the positioning of the function buttons some people may find difficult.  Other than that, there are no other frustrations leading us to say we think it’s a great camera!
